Eating nutritiously when open for business!

Healthy eating is vital to our well-beings and quite frankly, it makes us who we are. If you are an entrepreneur or business man, one thing you must not forget is taking care of yourself, and while working out daily is part of the equation so is eating the right foods:

Examples of right foods include:

  • Strawberries
  • Cantaloupe
  • Egg whites
  • Whole grain bread

Of course there are many more:

Many times in business we tend to get so stressed out that we succumb to foods such as fast food, meat loaf, macaroni & cheese

These foods may seem enticing. But BEWARE of how it can affect your body!!

And later in life, eating such foods consistently can lead to complications. In the short term, it can lead to trouble concentrating, anxiety, and depression. And in the long term it can lead to diabetes, blood pressure, and even cardiac arrest!

This is all just an FYI out there, for business men and entrepreneurs that become so bombarded with work that they just don’t get time to think about such factors.

Optimists’ nutrition for salesmen, entrepreneurs

Nutrition doesn’t have to include eating the right kinds of foods as opposed to fatty ones, i.e. hot dogs, hamburgers, it also includes how we wire our state of minds. The way I see it is that if we think in a pessimistic manner, we are bound to walk in the direction of failure. However, if we induce our minds towards optimistic thinking, then we are more prone to success because basically our minds are telling us that anything is possible!

There are a lot of people out there who have a bad habit of thinking negatively. They are described as small people because they are not open minded towards other avenues in life and are very cynical minded by nature.

If you are a product manager, salesmen, or entrepreneur trying to kick start your small business, it is extremely crucial that you adopt positive thinking into your everyday life. It is always optimists who succeed and who successfully transmit their charisma to others.

Optimists are the individuals who are able to manage their time well, while also working out a solid balance between professional and personal lives. They are the ones who are able to plant a smile on everyone’s face, while also serving as the motivator of a team making everyone else around them believe that they can do the impossible. Most importantly, they condition themselves to view even the impossible as possible. Finally, they have taught themselves to be naturally happy, which is also one of the keys to success!

Blog update!

How is everyone doing? Hope you guys had a cheerful day today! So anyway, I just want to make a few updates to readers of this blog. I know that when most of you guys, whether you are following my blog or not, read my blog you are expecting tips on how to start your own business, on-line or off-line.

I know there has been quite a bit of confusion because I’ve talked about topics that are so left-field such as investing, and I know many of you guys are confused because I bring up topics that deal with more philosophical issues such as mindfullness and how to think. Well the truth is that if you are an aspiring entrepreneur, you will have to adapt to such mindsets as thinking optimistically, eating right, staying fit by going to your local gym, and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals. There are more and I’ll get to them eventually.

So what I’ll be talking about from now on are only topics concerning avenues of success in business and this includes mindsets that augment success as well as sales/marketing paradigms as that’s what I do for a living, marketing!

Focusing on what truly matters to you!

Just a reminder: If you haven’t read “Living the 80/20 Way” I’d highly suggest reading it right now or whenever you have time in your hands. It is a wonderful book and I can’t begin to tell you how much it has helped me. If you’re finding life to be extremely mundane or are frustrated with the state of your current life then this will surely qualify as a “luxurious read”!

Alright so, I’d like to talk about the act of focus. It seems that approximately three-quarters of adults have some degree of ADD(Attention Deficit Disorder). This means we are not able to focus on a given task at times and most often get side-tracked by extraneous thoughts that may not even matter. All the 80/20 Book talks about is focus, focusing on only your given strengths and doing what you love. Once you know what kind of business you want to start if you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, or what career pathway you want to follow,  you must find an 80/20 destination in getting there, meaning you must pinpoint the 20% of effort that will get you 80% of the results. This allows a person to efficiently focus on what truly matters instead of banging your head on the wall wondering what it is that you want to do in life. It is also an avenue in optimizing your potential!

Focus is one of the greatest assets to acquire for an individual, whether they’re a consultant, teacher, or entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are swamped with hard work if they are to generate sales and with all of the mental clutter and personal issues going on, it can seem daunting!

Are you someone who has trouble focusing on what is important to you? If so, what are some of the techniques you can use that can offset this problem. Some solutions include:

  • Going to the gym on a daily basis
  • Meditative techniques such as yoga
  • Blogging (heheh)
  • Writing your thoughts in a journal/diary
  • Going to church or joining a religious organization
  • Being active in your community
  • Joining a local sports league to keep fit

These are just some ideas. Feel free to expand on these ideas even further by dropping a comment below 🙂

Following your passion is the best medicine ;)

This is advice that I actually churned out on my own. What can I say, I have a knack for words. And this piece of wisdom does carry a lot of weight and common sense if you observe closely. A lot of us get into that 9 – 5 routine not willing to plunge into risks which could be what we’re truly passionate about. Some of us are just wired that way like me for instance. I cannot accomplish a task unless I’m truly passionate about it or it’s mandated to be done. When we engage in jobs or activities we are not passionate about, they become nothing but energy drainers. Well I say that we figure out what these energy drainers are and flush them down the toilet because if you’re interested in achieving success in life whether it’s in your professional life or personal life, then you need to participate in activities that bring out your natural abilities.

I worked as a fundraiser and as a timeshare salesman for several years and a one crucial lesson I learned was you must be passionate about what you are selling or what you are trying to raise funds for. Both activities constitute a business activity and whenever you engage in a business activity you must be passionate about it considering all of those long hours you will have to put in maintaining and growing your business. The other lesson that I learned was persistence. Sales is the lifeblood of any business so if you want an intact business at the end of the day you will have to be persistent in generating as much sales as possible!

Going back to the topic of passion. I feel that you must constantly speculate  your passion, figuring out what makes you truly happy or truly tick, and go after it with all you’re muscle. Passion is what keeps us going in this world. What’s your passion?
